Safe Exam Browser Linux is an open-source community project bringing secure online exam capabilities to the Linux desktop. It is designed to be simple, reliable, and accessible to schools, universities, and other institutions that use Linux.

SEB Linux temporarily turns a computer into a secure workstation for exams. While running, students can only access the exam itself. Everything else is locked, including other applications, websites, and system features. This helps keep exams fair and prevents cheating.

The application launches in full screen and blocks access to the rest of the system. Once the exam is finished, the computer returns to normal. Schools can configure which websites are allowed and set security policies to match their needs.

  • Schools and universities running Linux in computer labs.
  • Institutions that want a free, open-source alternative for secure assessments.
  • Developers and organizations that want to contribute to a community project.
